The Influence of Grit and Resilience on the Retention Intention of New Nurses

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the influence of grit and resilience on retention intention new nurses.Methods: The participants were 148 nurses who had worked at two tertiary hospitals for less than 12 months. data collected self-reported questionnaires from October 25, 2022, November 28, 2022. T-tests, one-way analysis variance, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis Spearman’s correlation analysis, multiple regression used analyze data.Results: Retention significantly different according placement in desired department job satisfaction. showed a significant positive with (p<.001) (p<.001). Significant factors influencing (β=.30, p<.001), (β=.27, p=.001), dissatisfaction (β=-.16, p=.029). These variables accounted 29% (F=21.41, p<.001) nurses’ intention.Conclusion: results this that considering these might be helpful strategies addressing nurse staffing challenges.
